Hey all! I thought I’d make a more personal “About Me” rather than the short, third-person author bio. Just… y’know… in case anyone wants that.
So, hi! I’m Charlotte Anne Hamilton, I was born and bred in Ayrshire, Scotland in a teeny, tiny village known for being a bit rural. I’ve been writing for as long as I’ve been able (I was 4 when I learnt how to type my name on the computer) and the first story I remember writing was about a dog called Pat — Pat the Dog, a total rip-off from FRIENDS but it got me started. I eventually started writing fanfiction, first in the Pirates of the Caribbean fandom, then branching out into others (though most of my work is in the Supernatural fandom writing DeanCas and all the femslash!) It was thanks to this that I realised I was bisexual and on the aroace spectrum as a demisexual and a demiromantic.
Growing up I was convinced I would be a vet, but when my gran’s dog who I loved more than anything, had to be put to sleep, I just realised that it wasn’t actually something I could do. That threw me for a bit and I couldn’t decide where my future lay — especially when paired with some trauma I went through in my high school years with my mother breaking her neck and back. ✌🏻
So I jumped about from an English degree, to joining the Navy or Army, and a million other ideas before a couple of years ago, I realised that my passion is in writing. I honestly cannot imagine my life without it and I am constantly coming up with new ideas, both for original stories and fanfiction, because I can’t forget my roots.
Fanfic is something that gives me the freedom to explore my craft and hone it in a way that doesn’t have any real sort of pressure. It’s a lot of fun to be able to focus on stories and the suchlike with characters that I already know and love…definitely takes the pressure off having to come up with my own, haha.
Any moment that isn’t spent writing is usually spent gaming, reading or dabbling in any and all forms of art. Seriously. I love it all: sewing, painting, sketching, embroidery, crafts, sculpting, digital. I also spend a lot of time with my friends who are as chaotic as I am. It’s nice finding the people who understand you. I’m also a huge fan of K-Pop (ATEEZ are my ultimates (and I saw them live in Jan 2025) but I love so many others) and I really enjoy BL dramas…seriously. I’ve watched over 100 of them at this point.
It can be a little overwhelming, having so many things I want do, especially when I deal with depression, anxiety, CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and chronic pain. But I manage — most of the time — because it’s what I love to do.
I am a proud fur mamma to a chaotic orange Maine Coon called Django (named after the ATEEZ song.) I love him to pieces, even if he does drive me up the wall. My previous babies, Izzy (my chocolate labrador) and Smudge (my precious tabby) have gone to the fields in the sky, and I miss them every day. I also have a fur-brother, a golden labrador called Clyde, and a two fur-nephews: a chihuahua called Ollie and miniature schnauzer called Rico. All of them frequently appear on my instagram.
I’m also a proud auntie to four niblings — Emily, Jack, Rosie and Mathew.
